Why bad things happen to good people: An explanation
Today I am talking about why bad things happen to good people, and I am doing a book review! This book is called Your Soul’s Plan: Discovering the Real Meaning of the Life You Planned Before You Were Born, by Robert Schwartz.
I originally bought the Kindle version of this book, but quickly realised that having the paperback version was going to be needed, as I would be referring to this book often in my work! It’s a brilliant book and it’s given me a whole new perspective of life! I urge you to get your hands on a copy – you will never look at life the same way again!
Why bad things happen to good people – our perspective
Why bad things happen to good people, is something we struggle to understand. We often believe that the suffering is meaningless and unfair.
But what if the most difficult experiences we have had in our lives were not only planned, but also served a specific purpose?
What if we wanted to grow in a specific life area, so we planned these challenges before we were born? What if we actually PLANNED to experience tragedies in this lifetime?
This seems like a difficult concept to get your head around, right? Why would a child choose abusive parents, for example??
It certainly gives lots of food for thought!
This book covers why bad things happen to good people
The book tells the stories of ten people who planned before birth to experience significant challenges. With the help of a bunch of gifted channels and mediums, the author, Robert Schwartz, discovers:
- Why we choose to experience specific challenges such as illness, difficult relationships, disabilities, the death of a loved one and more;
- How we create our life blueprint before we are incarnated; and
- We use these challenges to spiritually grow and heal.
Each individual’s experience helped me to put my own life into perspective, so if only for that, this book is absolutely worth a read!
What types of bad things happen to good people?
Where do I start?? There are so many “bad” things that could happen to an individual. After reading this and similar books, it has become very clear to me that from a Soul’s perspective, things may not always be as they seem!
Here’s a summary of the “bad” things that happened to these people:
- Physical illness
- Parenting handicapped children
- Deafness and blindness
- Drug addiction and alcoholism
- Death of a loved one
- Accidents
If these challenges were chosen by the Soul prior to birth, does it actually make them “bad” at all?
I guess it would feel that way for the individual at the time. We’re all given a nice dose of amnesia prior to coming into our new incarnations, so we don’t remember the choices we made at Soul-level. Of course this means that when these challenges happen, they will usually feel bad!
Having an understanding of why things are as they appear to be, helps the individual to heal, at least emotionally, from the challenge.
When I am doing Past Life or Between Lives Regressions, this is an important aspect of the session. We want to gain an understanding of why the person is suffering, and hopefully how we can reduce that suffering. Once knowing why, the individual more often than not experiences a positive emotional shift.
Which story stood out for me
The story that stood out for me is about a young woman who was injured in a bomb explosion. I can’t even attempt to comprehend what was going through her head at the time and afterwards, but the story triggered something in me that helped me to understand that things are rarely black or white!
I don’t want to say too much about this story as I will not do it any justice, but I just wanted to share that really bad things happen to good people, and it’s usually due to a specific, planned reason!
How to find out what you planned for this lifetime
If you’re curious to find out what your Soul planned for you in this lifetime, you’re curious about the details of your past lives, or you’re interested in finding out why you chose to incarnate this time, a Past Life Regression may be something you’d like to try, in addition to reading the book!
