Lesson 20 – I am determined to see
Today’s A Course in Miracles lesson is an interesting one, and I had to turn to Pam’s book to work out what they were actually trying to say!
What this lesson is about
This lesson is about seeing the “truth” from all angles. It’s about knowing that there are other perspectives, and that they may not match yours, and it’s important to see not only your truth, but also the truth of others.
Is this about condoning bad behaviour? No. It’s about understanding why the other person has said or done whatever it is they have said or done. You already know your own truth and how you got there, so this is about seeing their truth and coming to an understanding of how they got there.
Here’s what it says in Pam’s book
Rather than be against anyone or anything, it asks me to see unity, peace, love, joy for all. It asks me to see the truth in the oppressed AND the oppressor, in the bullied AND the bully.
Today’s exercise
Today you are asked to remind yourself that you want to see. Obviously, this implies that you do not see now! Hmmm….!
As you repeat the idea, you are stating that you are determined to change your present state for a better one, and one that you really want.
Repeat this idea slowly and positively at least twice an hour today, attempting to do so every half hour.
The extra repetitions should be applied to any situation, person or event that upsets you. You can see them differently, and you will. What you desire you will see. Such is the real law of cause and effect as it operates in the world.
