How to receive a message from your guides
I was out in the car earlier today to pick up some groceries for tonight’s dinner and was listening to a podcast about all things metaphysical. In one particular episode, they were reading out listener questions and stories.
One of the stories caught my attention!
It reminded me of the time I asked my guides to send me a sign in the form of a fairy that everything was going to be ok regarding a specific situation. In response, they kept sending me photos of fairy wrens, before eventually leading me to a pack of fairy oracle cards!
So back to the story!
This story was sent in by a woman who after listening to one of their earlier eposides, decided to ask for a sign from her guides and ancestors, in the form of a bluebird. She wanted confirmation that they could hear her and were willing to help.
She was in her car at the time of this request, and kind of zoned out before she was “nudged” to pay attention. She was at a red light in traffic when two school buses passed her, each with a bright blue oval decal with a white bird. She got her blue, and she got her bird!
This gave me an idea…
So I decided to try an experiment! Things are a little “hectic” in our life right now, with a number of challenges currently in front of us, so I asked the following with the hope that these challenges would be soon left behind:
“Hey guides! Could you please show me a bluebird if my life is going to be easier within the next six months?”
I don’t think bluebirds even exist in Australia, so I figured it would be a bit “out there” if one was shown to me, so it wouldn’t be something that I would normally expect to see.
I probably should have put a “due by” date on this request, although in hindsight it turns out I didn’t need to!
What happened next?
Within about two minutes of asking my guides for a sign, I was pulling up at a set of traffic lights, when I glanced at the number plate of a car in the other lane.
The number plate was bright blue… and it had a picture of Tweety Bird on it! :O
So I had my blue. And I had my bird! Too funny!
This was supposed to be the end of my story, but it turns out we had more surprises coming our way!
There’s more!
After I received my amazing sign, I called my husband Laurie to tell him what had happened. He loves how my guides have the best sense of humour, so he said he’d ask for a sign too.
He was going to ask for a bluebird as well, but changed his mind and asked for a red bird.
As he pulled into the carpark of a local shopping centre, a bright blue Ford Falcon pulled up beside him. Falcons are a bird, so that’s funny! The thing is though, he didn’t want to see a BLUE bird – he wanted to see a RED one!
As he was walking into the shopping centre, he passed by a shop display and he couldn’t believe his eyes! UNBELIEVABLE!!!
So how do you receive a message from your guides?
If you want to receive a message from your guides, here’s what you can do:
- Be specific about what you’d like your guides to show you and choose a symbol that’s not too “common”. For example, don’t feel tempted to ask for a sign in the form of a butterfly if you live in a place that’s constantly got butterflies flying around. Also, it’s important not to ask for something that might be too uncommon, making it almost impossible for your guides to deliver. What comes to mind is something soooo out there such as a pink sheep with blue ears, or something weird like that!
- It’s easier if you ask for a sign to give you a “yes” answer or a “no” answer than to ask a more open question, such as “Tell me about how xyz is going to play out”. In my example, I asked for a sign if things were going to be better within the next 6 months, which provides a “yes” answer. Laurie’s question required a sign if we’d make a specific purchase within 3 months which of course provides a “yes” answer. You could also ask for one sign to be shown for a “Yes” and a different sign to be shown for a “No”.
- Pay attention! You may not know exactly how your guides will provide you with a sign, and sometimes it won’t necessarily be the exact type of sign you were thinking of! For me it wasn’t a “bluebird” as in the species, which I was expecting, but rather a blue numberplate which happened to have a bird on it!
Have fun with this and experiment. Like I also mentioned, add a due date too. I could have asked for this: “Guides, if things are going to be better in six months, please show me a bluebird within three days”, or something like that.
One thing I should note however, is that our guides are not great with time. They may confirm that something will happen within X timeframe but it’s not always accurate. So the answers you get where time is concerned, may be slightly misaligned with our concept of time.
What else could I ask my guides for help with?
Now that I’ve written this far, I am noticing my brain is getting excited and trying to come up with other questions to ask, which I’d love to share! I’m sure there’s sooo much more that can be asked, but this might help you to get those creative juices flowing!
- Please show me a sign in the form of ___ and within 3 days to let me know you are supporting me.
- Please show me a sign in the form of ___ and within 3 days if this [situation] is going to improve.
- Please show me a sign in the form of ___ and within 3 days if I am on my correct path in life.
- Please show me a sign in the form of ___ and within 3 days if the decision I have made about [situation] is the best way forward.
- Please show me a sign in the form of ___ and within 3 days if I will meet my soul mate within this calendar year.
- Please show me a sign in the form of ___ and within 3 days if I will get a new job soon.
I’m sure you get the idea and hopefully soon I’ll do a podcast on this topic once I’ve researched more stories that I can talk about on my show! Stay tuned my lovelies!
