How to find your path in life
As a child, I didn’t really have an answer when asked, “What do you want to be when you grow up?”. At some point I eventually decided I wanted to be a rockstar, and I even joined the school rock band, but sadly it wasn’t meant to be!
I didn’t know what it felt like to have a knowing of what I wanted to do, and as I got older, it was more about applying for the next job as I climbed the corporate ladder.
When I was 24 years old, I remember thinking “Surely this isn’t all there is to life? All I do is get up, have breakfast, go to work, come home, eat dinner, then go to bed, before doing all again, five days a week – and all the while, looking forward to the weekend!”.
I had a deep knowing at that time that my life wasn’t fulfilling me, but I kept going, completing courses in bookkeeping and psychology, and anything else I could get my hands on.
Before I knew it, I was in my 40’s and wondering where my life had gone!
It wasn’t until I was 46 years old that my eyes were finally opened enough to see a glimpse of what I was actually on this planet for.
How I was pointed in the right direction
It was 2018 and Laurie and I were booked in to see a psychic guy on the Gold Coast. He was supposed to be really good, so for a bit of fun we decided to each have a session.
I remember walking into what looked like a tiny cupboard that he worked from at the back of a crystal shop, to find this strange man waiting for me. I also sensed a warmth about him so that’s ok! Before I could sit down, he said, “You’re a healer, aren’t you?”.
I looked around me to see if he was referring to someone else, but it was just him and I in there, and he was looking directly at me! Ok, this is weird. I told him that no, I was not a healer. But he insisted that I was – several times in fact.
The reading went on and he picked up on information that he couldn’t possibly know, so I started to think about what he’d said about me being a healer. I was a certified coach (not that I’d done anything with it at that point), so maybe this is what he was referring to – a coach can help people heal, right?
He went on to tell me that I had a number of Aboriginal spirits around me, and he told me that at a soul level, I was “one of them”. Now that’s interesting! But again, I didn’t see myself as a “healer”, so at the end I thanked him for the session and didn’t give this much thought.
Well… I didn’t give it much thought until about a week later.
I was being guided
I was at work one day, and I had some downtime so I was scrolling through Facebook when I came across an advertisement which had been created by one of my Facebook friends, Doug. While he and I had many mutual friends, I had no idea what he actually did for a living! Turns out he’s a Healer and Coach, and in a few weeks he was going to be running an energy medicine workshop.
I reached out to Doug and asked him about his course, and wanted to know if it was like Reiki. I’d never had Reiki before, but I’d at least heard of it!
He replied with “No. It’s much more powerful than that…”. He offered some further insight and helped me with a couple of questions I had, and I decided to sign up for the 2.5 day course!
The following week I booked Laurie and I in for a Reiki session each. I wanted to compare the difference between the two so I could explain it to others! The session was relaxing for sure, but I personally didn’t feel any noticeable benefit from it. Laurie, on the other hand, experienced improved movement in his knees, so he was thrilled with that!
My first taste of energy medicine
The first day of the energy medicine workshop (which was only a few hours) blew my mind. I have no words to describe exactly how I felt, but I was BUZZING! I’d had no exposure to any type of energy work before (apart from the Reiki session), and I couldn’t believe what I was learning! It opened my eyes and helped me to see that there is soooo much more to this world that I had no clue about! Wow!
The following two days were a mix of learning and practical application of the skills that we learned, and we all took turns having other members of the group work on us. My first 30 seconds on the table were life-changing. A huge outpouring of grief happened on that table, and I have no idea what this was all about! I kept saying “I don’t know where this is coming from!” as I sobbed, and Doug replied “It doesn’t matter – just let it flow out!”.
THIS was where I was headed. THIS was my path. I knew it in my bones, and I was soooo excited about it!
Life happens but I kept learning
But then… life happened, and although I kept learning and eventually became certified in Emotion Code and Body Code, I still felt as though something was missing.
The following year I experienced my first Soul Regression, and was taken back to my “life between lives”, and what an eye-opener that was! I very quickly learned that I was on my path, but still had a lot to learn.
I soon became certified in hypnotherapy (and in particular, Soul Regression Therapy), I became a “trainee medium”, and I began communicating with my spirit guides.
My guides told me (they are a collective group of souls called Charoyia) that now was my time for learning and while I felt like I was in a “holding pattern” of sorts, it was important that I took this time to focus on building my knowledge and abilities to be the best that they can be so I could help others.
This was also a time for me to continue my inner work, to shift my perspectives, and to learn how I could help others in a meaningful way. And it is the helping of others that is my path in life. I know I am here to teach others how to find their path, how to connect to their higher selves, to their guides and to loved ones across the veil. And I know I had to go through this process myself the long way, so that I could understand the frustration that people feel when their soul path eludes them.
So while working in many unfulfilling jobs over the years has been frustrating for me, I now understand why this had to happen. I can now apply meaning to those years, and understand that they happened so that I could help others. If you’ve read this far, you’re probably thinking, “That’s a nice story, Michelle. But how can I find MY path in life?”, so I’ve created some tips and ideas to help you find your path in life:
Pay attention to the nudges
Our guides are always “nudging” us in the right direction. Sometimes we ignore these nudges because we’re too much in “doing” mode, and we end up off track. So our guides step in and try to nudge us back on track.
These nudges feel like little feelings of insight or knowing. They’re like an instant urge to do something. Have you ever been in the middle of something when you had the sudden urge to do something else? That’s usually your team on the other side! And if you listen to those urges and you follow through immediately, you’re going to find that they will do this more and more often, to keep you on track, and to help you to find your path in a much quicker way than “your way”!
What brings you joy?
I’ve always had an interest in the metaphysical, playing around with extra sensory perception, tarot and oracle cards. I also liked to have sessions with palm readers and psychics/mediums for a bit of fun. I was also HUGE on the power of the Law of Attraction, so this was a clue that I’d be heading down a metaphysical path – if only I’d worked this out 20 years ago!
I also love to help others. Nothing makes me happier than to know I have helped somebody to improve their life in some way! I feel absolute joy when this happens, and this is the key!
What brings you joy?
What makes you feel alive inside when you’re doing it? This is your clue!
What personal qualities do you have?
Over the years I have learned that I am very good at writing procedures and training others how to do things. I even wrote a course once, to teach my mother how to build a website from scratch! I am also a very patient teacher. No question is too silly to ask, and I am more than happy to answer it. So this tells me that I would make a great coach, teacher or mentor. Many people have commented on how patient I can be!
Maybe you’re gifted in certain areas, such as writing, using your hands in manual type tasks, or you’re an AMAZING cook and you love to cook for crowds? Or maybe you’re amazing with children, or maybe you’re interested in the metaphysical stuff like I am?
What do you find yourself doing naturally?
I am one of those no-fuss, straight to the point types of people, and when interacting with others, I find I am good at asking them direct questions which bring about different thinking or viewpoints. I’ve helped many friends, family or clients find answers within themselves this way. It’s like my questions tend to lead them toward a way of thinking which helps the answer to come to the surface. I won’t take all the credit for this though, because I think my guides help me out!
This comes naturally to me, and I really love helping people find solutions, so this is another hint for me!
Maybe you’re the type of person to lend a hand to somebody in decluttering their cupboards, washing their car, helping them out in the garden, or maybe you’ve been receiving messages from the other side of the veil?
What other clues about your path are you seeing?
Have you ever considered a Soul Regression session?
A Soul Regression can be life-changing! So much so that I had to become a Soul Regression Therapist myself, so I could help others to experience the wonder of seeing yourself in past lives, and seeking wisdom from your higher self and your guides while in between lives!
A Soul Regression session differs depending on who you talk to and the technique involved. Some people claim they cannot be hypnotised, so are skeptical they’ll “go under”, but I am pleased to say I have a 100% success rate so far! The key is to remain open and relaxed, and to have no expectations.
The sessions I provide come in two parts, and can be in person or via Zoom.
The first part is usually two hours long and involves me taking you into a trance state. From there we move back in time, eventually going back to a significant lifetime which may be relevant to your life today.
Before this session I give you the opportunity to write down a number of questions you would like the answers to, and throughout this session I will ask these questions as a means to help you get answers.
Sometimes this session will take us to another place between lives, and sometimes we will communicate with your higher self or spirit guides.
The second session is also around two hours long and our focus is to take you straight to the time between lives. This is after you passed in your previous life, and before you were born into this life.
Again, you will provide me with a bunch of questions you want to ask, and I will attempt to get you some answers.
It was during a session like these two that I received confirmation of my life purpose. I had some idea already that what I was currently learning about and interested in was a part of my path, but I wasn’t entirely sure. This session helped me to get the clarity I needed. I also learned a lot about how events earlier in my life had helped me to grow and the lessons I had learned. It was an incredible experience!
If you are feeling truly lost, a Soul Regression Session may help you to determine your path.
Finding your path
As you can see, there are a number of ways to not only get an idea of what your path in life could be, but also another way to get straight to the point!
Whatever way you choose to go, it will be the right path for you – I’m sure of it! And if you veer off track, don’t worry – your spirit guides will gently nudge you back!
It’s really important that you don’t beat yourself up over how long it has taken you to get to this point, because maybe there were some lessons you needed to learn first. Or maybe this is just the way this journey was meant to go for you!
Either way you can’t change the past, but you can absolutely decide which way you’d like your future to go!
If you have any questions about your life path or about how a Soul Regression session might work for you, please reach out – I’m more than happy to help!
