A little process for singles to shift your perspective about your love life
Hello! Hello! It’s Fabulous Friday, and today we’re going to talk about a little process for singles to shift your perspective about your love life. This isn’t my tool; it’s one that I borrowed from Abraham Hicks, called the Book of Positive Aspects. I like to call it the Positive Aspects Exercise.
What is the Positive Aspects Exercise?
The purpose of this exercise is to modify your vibrational frequency by concentrating on the positive aspects of your situation. This helps to attract more positivity into your life. I’ve used this process in many ways over the years, and I encourage my clients to do the same. The power of this exercise is truly incredible. Here’s how you can do it:
Step-by-Step Guide
- Get a Notebook: Choose a notebook that feels special to you. This will be your Book of Positive Aspects.
- Daily Focus: Every day, at the top of the page, write down the topic you want to focus on. For singles, it could be “The Positive Aspects of Being Single.”
- List Positive Aspects: Spend about 5 minutes listing at least five positive things about your situation. For example, you might enjoy having the bathroom to yourself or sleeping on the whole bed.
- Train Your Brain: By doing this exercise daily, you’ll start to train your brain to look for positive things to add to your list tomorrow. This practice makes the positives in your life bigger and more noticeable.
Expanding the Exercise
This exercise isn’t limited to your love life. You can use it for any area of your life:
- A family member
- A colleague
- Your health
- Your job
List all the positive things you can think of about that subject and aim for at least five minutes of writing. Focus entirely on the positive traits and experiences associated with the subject.
Feel the Emotion
As you write each positive aspect, allow yourself to feel the positive emotions associated with those thoughts. For example, enjoying your freedom when single might bring feelings of joy and independence. The intensity of your feelings enhances the effectiveness of this exercise by aligning your energy with what you desire.
Review and Reflect
Look back at your past entries to remind yourself of the positive aspects you’ve appreciated. This can help uplift you when you’re having a challenging day. It’s normal to have down days, but don’t dwell on them. This exercise is perfect for shifting your thoughts and emotions about your current situation.
Real-Life Example
When I had a job I didn’t like, I used this exercise to find joy in my work. My team often fought like children, and it was frustrating. One of my mentors suggested finding joy in what I was doing. So, during my long commute, I spent time thinking about the positives of my workplace and colleagues. Within a week or two, my team’s behaviour improved dramatically. This shows the incredible power of focusing on positive aspects.
Weekend Activity
I recommend spending a little time this weekend doing the Positive Aspects Exercise. It will help you shift your perspective and eventually attract the love you desire. When you meet someone and face challenges, use this exercise to focus on their positive traits. Remember, your physical surroundings reflect what’s going on inside you. If something outside doesn’t feel good, look within and address what’s causing it.
Take Responsibility
It’s essential to take responsibility for your thoughts and emotions. Ensure they align more often with what you want rather than what you don’t want. Focusing on a problem only makes it bigger. Trust me; I’ve learned this from personal experience.
